Council on Rural Service Programs, Inc. has been using Blackbaud’s Financial Edge Version 7 since 2013. Over the years we had developed a large number of custom Crystal reports for our day-to-day reporting needs — so many that we relied on less than a dozen standard FE7 reports. We delayed migrating to Financial Edge NXT for years due to the fact that we would no longer have direct access to our data for our custom Crystal reports. Blackbaud put us in touch with Mission BI, one of their Blackbaud Marketplace partners. They were able to make our data available on their servers so we could continue using Crystal Reports for our reporting needs. Mission BI was very responsive in making data available to us that was not already part of their standard data tables. We were able to re-map and re-write 62 Crystal reports so that the migration to NXT could begin.

Which reporting tools work with MissionBI Connect?
MissionBI Connect works with virtually any reporting software, including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Reports, Qlik Sense, and others. If your tool can connect to a data source, it can connect to MissionBI Connect.
How long does it take to get up and running?
Typically one to three weeks from contract signature to delivery of your fully configured solution. We handle everything internally and follow up with you as needed.
Can I subscribe to both RENXT and FENXT?
Yes. Many organizations subscribe to both to enable cross-functional reporting across donor and fund accounting data in a single dashboard.
Is my data secure?
Yes. MissionBI Connect is hosted on Microsoft Azure — the same platform Blackbaud selected for NXT. Azure provides 256-bit AES encryption for data at rest, TLS encryption for all data in transit, role-based access controls, and continuous threat detection through Microsoft Defender for Cloud. As a Blackbaud Partner Network member, we also undergo periodic security reviews by Blackbaud.
What if I don’t have a report developer on staff?
No problem. MissionBI can refer you to a growing network of experienced report developer partners — typically seasoned Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge consultants — who specialize in Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Reports, and other tools using MissionBI Connect.
Does MissionBI Connect include all my NXT data fields?
Yes — guaranteed. Every field for all RE NXT and FE NXT record types is included. If you ever can’t locate a field needed for a report, we’ll add it at no additional charge.
Can reports be shared with staff and board members?
Absolutely. When a board member or administrator opens a shared report via distribution tools such as the Power BI Service or Tableau Online, it automatically reflects your most current Blackbaud data.
